According to the aide, she highlighted the necessity of a peaceful transition of power and serving as president for all Americans.
The White House has announced that resident Joe Biden will address the country on Thursday to discuss the election results and the transition.
Earlier in the day, the president contacted Harris to congratulate her on her historic campaign, while Trump congratulated him on his win.
He also asked Trump to meet with him at the White House. The White House said that the staff will arrange a precise date in the near future.
In a spectacular political comeback, the former president won all seven battleground states on his way to 270 electoral votes, resulting in a decisive triumph. The vice president will speak at Howard University at 4 p.m., the White House said.
Her alma institution hosted an election night watch party, and Harris was scheduled to speak to participants once the results were announced. The findings did not come in until early in the morning. If elected, she would have been the first HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) graduate to serve as president.
