Buster Murdaugh is reiterating his trust in his father, Alex Murdaugh‘s, innocence.
The infamous South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh was found guilty earlier this year of murdering his wife and another son in June 2021.
Buster speaks out to Martha MacCallum in a new FOX Nation special about his father, his murder trial, and how he still feels his father did not murder his mother, Margaret “Maggie” Murdaugh, 52, and his brother, Paul Murdaugh, 22.
Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were discovered dead on the family’s 1,770-acre property near Islandton, South Carolina, where the Murdaughs have a hunting lodge. For the killings, Alex, 54, is presently serving two life sentences.
Buster, on the other hand, told FOX Nation last week that he does not feel his father should be in prison.
“I do not believe he was involved in endangering my mother and brother,” Buster says in a new program on his father’s trial. “We’ve been here for a while, and that’s been my position.”
Buster told FOX Nation that he believes a serial murderer is still on the street and that he “absolutely” fears for his personal safety on a daily basis. “That is what I believe,” he explained.
“I think I set myself up to be safe, but yes, when I go to bed at night, I have a fear that somebody is still out there,” Buster explained.
However, investigators are sure that Alex is responsible for the deaths of his wife and kid.
Attorneys’ attempts to seek a mistrial following Alex’s conviction were quickly refused by state Circuit Judge Clifton Newman earlier this year.
“The evidence of guilt is overwhelming,” stated the court in dismissing the motion.
Prosecutors reportedly claimed a “mountain of evidence” established Alex’s guilt, including blood splatter purportedly found on his clothes, indicating he was there at the time of the killings. He also acknowledged to lying to police about where he was on the night his wife and kid died.
