The “Corn Kid” from the popular TikTok video detailing his love for the starchy vegetable, Taeiq, was in New York City on Monday to assist in distributing tens of thousands of cans of food to New Yorkers in need ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

After he donated now he is the ambassador for South Dakota.

The young boy, who is from Brooklyn, was standing on 52nd Street in Sunset Park as a truck loaded with 90,000 vegetable cans was getting ready to deliver the supplies to City Harvest’s brand-new Cohen Community Food Rescue Center. Tariq could understand that 50,000 of those cans contained, you guessed it, corn, of course.

The young internet sensation referred to the event, which was held in association with Green Giant, as “corn-tastic” and “corn-mazing.” a lot of corn

The gift came as City Harvest reported that visits to food pantries and soup kitchens in all five boroughs are still almost 70% higher than they were before the pandemic.

More than 13,000 turkeys will also be distributed by City Harvest this season, in addition to the canned corn and meal boxes assembled by volunteers and filled with a variety of dry goods and holiday essentials.

‘Corn kid’ goes viral after declaring his love for corn

There is a new corn ambassador for South Dakota now. The seven-year-old Tariq, also known as the “corn kid,” received an executive proclamation from the governor in his honor. Tariq’s videos in which he enthusiastically declares his love for corn helped him become a viral video sensation.

As Tariq’s fame rises, he is even attracting the attention of celebrities like Kevin Bacon and Martha Stewart, as well as fast food chains. Over the weekend, he accepted an invitation to South Dakota’s Corn Palace.
