Amazon layoffs 18,000 Tech Engineer

Amazon has declared that it will "eliminate" over 18,000 positions at the corporation, expanding a previously announced wave of layoffs that was supposed to affect 10,000 staff.

The announcement is substantial regarding the number of employees affected, accounting for only 1.2% of Amazon's 1.5 million global workforces.

In an early morning message to staff, CEO Andy Jassy stated that in addition to the positions affected in its Devices and Books divisions.

The announcement comes only one day after Salesforce announced a 10% staff reduction, affecting over 7,000 people.

According to data from the layoff monitoring website Layoffs.fyi , tech corporations will slash more than 150,000 jobs by 2022.

Today’s announcement of amazon told “it has yet to inform those that will be impacted ”,

And it may be stated on January 18.

"We normally wait to share about these results until we have the opportunity to meet with the folks who are directly impacted," Jassy wrote on Twitter.
