Oprah Winfrey, the media mogul, is recuperating from a stomach ailment and dehydration after postponing a TV appearance.
According to the Oprah Daily Instagram account, Winfrey, 70, was set to appear on CBS Tuesday morning to promote her latest book club pick.
However, she had to cancel due to a stomach ailment she had over the weekend.
“We are happy to share that after receiving an IV due to dehydration at the recommendation of her doctor,” the caption stated. “Oprah is doing much better. We wish her a fast recovery.
Gayle King, Winfrey’s friend and CBS network news anchor, subsequently shared a discussion between the two, clearing up any uncertainty about Oprah’s hospitalization. King has already revealed that Oprah was not feeling well.
“I thought I made it obvious but next thing I know I’m astonished to read headlines that scream “Oprah’s hospitalized!” “(She was NOT!)” King said on Instagram. “And I’m getting calls wondering whether Oprah is alright. The answer is yes! And now, let us go right to the source.”
“Everybody I’d ever known that has access to my email has called me to say, ‘Are you alright?’,” stated Winfrey. “Thanks!”
Winfrey said on Tuesday that she had picked “Familiaris,” a prequel to Wroblewski’s Oprah-endorsed 2008 first novel, the Shakespearean drama “The Story of Edgar Sawtelle.” The new book, released this week, delves into the history of the Wisconsin-based Sawtelle family and its roots in the state’s north woods.
“I’m delighted for us to dive into an epic novel from the tremendously talented bestselling author David Wroblewski with his latest creation ‘Familiaris,'” Winfrey stated in a press release.
“David takes us on an extraordinary journey that brilliantly interweaves history, philosophy, adventure, and mysticism to explore the meaning of love, friendship and living your life’s true purpose.”
In 2019, Oprah also had pneumonia.
The queen of all media said in a previous clip from “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that she was “very sick” with pneumonia and urged viewers to take it seriously.
“Don’t toy with it; get your flu vaccination. Get your pneumonia vaccination. There’s nothing to play with. It gets folks out. But I’m telling you, it transformed my perspective on wellbeing,” she told Ellen DeGeneres.
